Villagers back on top in Indie Chart

Conor O'Brien has reclaimed his top spot crown, as last week's No. 1, Gaslight Anthem, drop to No. 7

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 25 Jun 2010

Villagers' Becoming a Jackal maintained the top spot for four consecutive weeks following its release in May. It was momentarily pushed to the (not too shabby) No. 2 spot last week, when Gaslight Anthem's American Slang swooped in to the No. 1 slot.

This week, Conor O'Brien's debut is back on top, followed once again by Hot Press cover star Cathy Davey's latest offering The Nameless. American Slang drops to No. 7.

There's a new entry at No. 3 from rapper Example - Won't Go Quietly is the Londoner's second album.

Elsewhere, Vampire Weekend have re-entered the chart, not once but twice! Contra makes a reappearance at No. 15, while their self-titled debut is back too, sitting pretty at No. 19.
