Undertones headline Good Vibrations anniversary gig

The Undertones help Belfast's Good Vibrations label celebrate 30 years in business with an anniversary gig next month.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 18 Mar 2008

The Undertones take care of headline duties on April 25 as the legendary Good Vibrations label celebrates its 30th anniversary with a knees-up in Belfast’s Mandela Hall.

“Good Vibrations proved to me that great things can arise when a one-eyed anarchist, running an uneconomic record shop in the 1970s, decides that bands from Belfast and Derry could make records as good as anyone else!” notes the band’s Michael Bradley.

Tickets for the bash, which also features Shame Academy, The Panama Kings and a screening of John T. Davis’ Shellshock Rock, are available from www.gotobelfast.com for £20.

As reported on hotpress.com before Christmas, the one-eyed anarchist in question, Terri Hooley, is to have his life story turned into a film by celebrity admirers Gary Lightbody and David Holmes. They’ve drafted in best-selling Norn Iron thriller writer Glen Patterson to pen the script, and identified James Nesbitt as the man they want to play Hooley.
