The Kings Of Leon arrive in Dublin & hope to visit the Philip Lynott Exhibition

The Slane excitement is starting to build in earnest!

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 26 May 2011

Slane headliners Kings Of Leon have arrived in Dublin and are hoping to take in Hot Press’ Philip Lynott Exhibition in the Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre.

Nathan Followill was told about the exhibition by Tony Fenton when he dropped into his Today FM show this afternoon.

The Kings revealed themselves to be huge Philo fans when they named ‘Molly’s Chambers’ in honour of Lizzy’s reading of ‘Whiskey In The Jar’ – a song Nathan says they might cover on Saturday! but as Nathan said "the hard thing about covering your favorite band, even if you do it perfectly in your mind you'll screw it up because it can never be as good as they did it."

When Tony informed Nathan about the exhibition he promised he'd "definitely go" but was wondering if you he'd need a disguise now that he'd said it on the air!!

They were also responsible for the current Thin Lizzy line-up being invited on to the 30th anniversary Slane bill which, naturally, will be extensively covered in the next issue of Hot Press.
