Shields spills all about My Bloody Valentine split
Among other subjects to be revealed in a forthcoming interview, Kevin Shields has told hotpress.com about the nature of the MBV spit

Kevin Shields has finally come clean about his reasons for splitting My Bloody Valentine up.
Talking this week to hotpress.com, Shields says: "I basically had to leave the band, and they had the option to pick me up as a solo artist, but that would mean they'd have to give me a big advance. And after giving me so much money and then me giving them nothing. It was too much for them to pay. It was just reality."
With talk of rifts in the ranks proving to be unfounded, Shields hasn't ruled out a reunion with MBV co-vocalist Bilinda Butcher.
"We can't be My Bloody Valentine, but not forever we can't, it's just for now," he reflects. "We might do stuff again, but I want to do my own stuff first, I really want to put an album out."
