Michael Jackson commemoration night in The Button Factory

Pay your respects to the legend next Tuesday

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 03 Jul 2009

There will be a Michael Jackson Commemoration night in The Button Factory on Tuesday (July 7) that will mark the life of one of the world's most intriguing icons.

It will start at 5.30pm and Michael's music videos will be playing throughout the venue as fans can sign the book of condolences which will later be sent on to his family.

The venue will have DJs playing his music and televised coverage of the funeral will also be shown.

The Button Factory is owned by Paddy Dunning who also owns Grouse Lodge Studios where Michael stayed for five months in 2006.

"He was a gentleman, very intelligent, with a great sense of humour – but very cautious of people because they’d ripped him off, everybody was always out for the take. When he came here I think he felt safe and comfortable, he was amongst musicians and people in the music business, his kids went to school here and hung out with my kids," says Dunning about Michael in the current issue of Hot Press.
