Messiah J & The Expert confirm album details

Messiah J & The Expert release their 12-track From The Word Go LP this month, with an Irish tour set up over the coming months.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 02 Oct 2008

Messiah J & The Expert's third LP, From The Word Go sees the light of day this month, with a provisional release date set for October 17.

The follow up to their 2007 release, Now This I Have To Hear, the new record was recorded over the last two years and features an eclectic mix of 12 tracks, clocking in at a punchy 47 minutes.

MJEX also get collaboration happy on the album, recording tracks with Leda Egri ('Turn The Magic On'), Joanne Daly ('Amnesia Comes Easily') and Delorentos boys Ro and Kieran (on our reviewer's fave track, 'Geography').

The striking cover art – which the band sought out via the wonders of MySpace – was designed by Emmy Knight, with photography by the Switzerland-based Chintu Merai.

MJEX play Tower Records, Dublin on the date of the album launch (October 17), followed by a gig in Andrew's Lane Theatre the following night (18). Then it's off to the Roisin Dubh, Galway (November 6); Auntie Annie’s, Belfast (7); Trinity Rooms, Limerick (14); The Pavillion, Cork (28).
