Lady Gaga steals the show at the Grammys

See the highlights tonight on RTÉ 2.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 14 Feb 2011

The mooted duet with Muse never materialised, but Lady Gaga still managed to steal the show last night at the Grammys by arriving at the Staples Center in a pod. When she eventually emerged from her cocoon, Ms. Germanotta joined Jay-Z and John Legend in picking up three awards.

The even bigger winners were new country merchants Lady Antebellum who went home to Nashville with five statuettes.

Also getting to thank Mum, Dad & God were Train, Eminem, Jeff Beck, the aforementioned Muse, Mavis Staples, Neil Young, Bela Fleck, Buju Banton and Arcade Fire who won Best Album for The Suburbs.

While nobody was going to outperform Gaga, Cee-Lo Green and Gwyneth Paltrow came damn close with their Muppets-assisted version of ‘Forget You’.

For a full list of winners go to www.grammy.com/nominees.

You can see all the Grammy highlights tonight at 7.30pm on RTÉ 2.
