LISTEN: Jack White covers U2

It's part of a 20th Anniversary Achtung Baby tribute compilation.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 11 Oct 2011

We weren't aware that Mr. Jack White was a big fan of Bono and co – though he did team up with The Edge (and Jimmy Page) for guitar documentary It Might Get Loud – so it's a treat to hear him tackle 'Love Is Blindness' from 1991's seminal, game-changing Achtung Baby album.

Jack White joins 11 other artists keen to pay homage to the Dublin megaband and one of their finest LPs. The likes of The Killers, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails and Patti Smith all offer up their versions of Achtung Baby songs on a new tribute CD bundled with Q Magazine from October 26.

It marks both the 20th Anniversary of Achtung Baby and the 25th Anniversary of Q itself.

Irish artists set to feature are Damien Rice, Gavin Friday and Snow Patrol. You'll find the full tracklisting, and 'Love Is Blindness' below.

01. Nine Inch Nails – Zoo Station

02. U2 (Jacques Lu Cont Mix) – Even Better Than The Real Thing

03. Damien Rice – One

04. Patti Smith – Until The End Of The World

05. Garbage – Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses

06. Depeche Mode – So Cruel

07. Snow Patrol – Mysterious Ways

08. The Fray – Trying To Throw Your Arms Around The World

09. Gavin Friday – The Fly

10. The Killers – Ultraviolet (Light My Way)
