Kopek to play single launch

Global Battle of the Bands winners Kopek are back in Dublin for the release their new single.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 07 Jun 2007

After recording their single 'Stop' with industry legend Danny Saber (Rolling Stones, Takling Heads, Public Enemy), Kopek will be holding the release party at the Temple Bar Music Centre on June 8. Tickets are €10.

Kopek will also be playing several shows around Ireland over the next two months and are planning to release an album later this year. Catch them at The Venue @ McHughs in Louth on June 15, the Chasing Bull in Bundoran on June 22, The Donegal Music Festival on July 14 and the King of Dalkey Music & Arts Festival on July 28.

The Dublin three-piece have already garnered a reputation as a must-see act folowing a world tour in the wake of the Global Battle of the Bands win that allowed them to play before 50,000 fans at Mexico’s Zocalo festival. Our very own Ed Power calls them “a gorgeous clutter of shouty choruses and machine gun riffs, their songs pull off the clever trick of seeming at once throwaway and anthemic”.
