Japanese Popstars remix Beyonce

Derry dance mavericks The Japanese Popstars edge ever closer to the big time with a remix of ‘If I Were A Boy’, the lead single from Beyoncé’s new I Am… Sasha Fierce album.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 07 Nov 2008

“The track is a directional change for her and we decided to do two mixes – one ‘Epic’ and the other ‘Dirty’,” the boys reveal. “The full package will be released on November 10, with other mixes from Deadmau5 and Audio Bullys.”

The good news doesn’t end there, with the Popstars shortlisted for ‘Best Breakthrough Producer’ and ‘Best Artist Album’ in DJ Mag’s annual Best of British Awards. If you’d like to help push ‘em over the line, voting closes today on djmag.com.

Currently in Australia, they have DJ gigs lined up in The Button Factory, Dublin (December 5); Red Rooms, Derry (6); Stiff Kitten, Belfast (27); and Trinity Rooms, Limerick (28).
