Jacko dominates charts, with Florence hot on his heels!

The latest charts show Michael Jackson with a staggering nine albums in the top 100.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 14 Aug 2009

The charts, published by IRMA for the week ending today (August 13) reveals The Essential Michael Jackson is the late star's top-seller at number two.

Holding Mr J from the top spot are our own The Script, whose self-titled debut has now spent more than one year in the charts.

But challenging both at number 3 is recent Hot Press cover star Florence and The Machine with her Lungs album. The success of Lungs has also been spurred by the performance of her single ‘Cosmic Love’ which is on the way up at number 18.

Another recent Hot Press cover star Imelda May has her album Love Tattoo maintaining her very high profile at number 7. U2’s No Line On The Horizon is at number 11, while there U218 Singles is, appropriately, at number 18.

Other Irish albums currently doing nicely include Lisa Hannigan at number 34 with Sea Sew, Aslan’s Uncas’d at 36.

The singles chart shows ‘I Gotta Feeling’ by Black Eyed Peas still at the top. Irish entries in the singles charts include The Script at number 39 with ‘Before The Worst’ and The Saw Doctors at number 49 with ‘She Loves Me’.
