Hard Working Class Heroes: Details of photography exhibits revealed

Details of photographic exhibitions at this year's HWCH festival have been unveiled.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 14 Sep 2007

Three major attractions will anchor the exhibit, including ‘The Rolling Stones: An Unseen Diary’, an exhibition by Getty Images featuring the work of Christopher Simon Sykes, who was commissioned in 1975 to photograph on stage and backstage on the Stones' 'T.O.T.A.' (Tour Of The Americas). For three months Sykes lived and toured with the Stones, hanging out with them in their hotel rooms, at the venues and on their plane

‘Visions Of Dylan’ is an exclusive exhibition of a unique collection of photographs inspired by Bob Dylan and taken by select fans from the worlds of music, film, fashion and art. Amateur snappers include Ronnie Wood, Patti Smith, Bryan Adams, Tracey Emin, Kate Nash and Lily Cole. The exhibition will also be available to view online (www.dylan07.com ) for two weeks after which the prints will be auctioned online with 100% of profits going to the War Child charity (as chosen by Bob Dylan).

The Irish and Scandinavian side of the exhibition is headed by special guest Roger Woolman, who is recognized as one of the leading exponents of the art of music photography. For the last decade he has been the leading eye of Ireland’s rock photography scene. His client list is a Who’s Who of the music industry including Rolling Stone, EMI, Sony, NME and the BBC amongst many others.

The exhibition will also feature the work of emerging music photographers based in Ireland and Scandinavia. It's open to members of the general public on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 September from 10am to 5pm (admission free).
