Gorillaz infamous 'iPad' album is to get a physical release

The Fall is set to hit stores next month

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 09 Mar 2011

Gorillaz latest creation The Fall is set to be released on 180gm vinyl on April 16.

Originally only available as a special Christmas Day download for fan club members, this full release comes as part of the annual Record Store Day, which aims to celebrate local record stores worldwide.

The album was created throughout the Gorillaz North American Tour last year, with creative tour-de-force Damon Albarn using nothing more than an iPad throughout - an impressive feat.

The 15-track album which was produced by Gorillaz and Stephen Sedgwick, will also be made available on CD and as a digital download on April 15.

Here's 2D, Damon Albarn's Gorillaz alias, with a few words on it's release: "The Fall is mostly just me…something more gentle and just…well…it’s just me and an iPad really mucking about…trying out some stuff. Just looking at America and then tapping on the screen…”

Got that? Have a listen to the sublime 'Little Pink Plastic Bags' and it will all make sense...

DAMON ALBARN just can’t sit still. And then there’s a planet that needs saving... the busiest man in rock makes time for a chat with Dave Fanning to talk collaborations, protests and his new sixteenth century oper
