Gemma Hayes for Dylan birthday gig

Gemma Hayes is one of the acts invited to kick off a year of festivities to celebrate Bob Dylan’s 70th birthday next year

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 08 Dec 2010

Hayes will be part of special Glasgow concert on January 24 at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

Dylan will be 70 on May 24, and other artists joining Hayes in Glasgow include Tim O’Brien, Josh Rouse, Rosanne Cash, Laura Cantrell, and Rab Noakes.

As well as featuring each singer’s pick of Dylan favourites, the show will highlight the strong Scottish influence over Dylan’s vast and varied oeuvre, including his adaptations and reinventions of such classic traditional ballads for his own ’I Pity the Poor Immigrant’, ’Pretty Peggy’ and ‘A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall’.
