ESB Picnic Power

Cyclists will power the sustainable showers at this year's Electric Picnic - so don't forget to pack your bikini!

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 24 Aug 2010

ESB and the Electric Picnic have today launched a novel way for festival revelers to keep clean this year - Picnic Power will consist of a fully sustainable carnival style carousel with thirty bicycles and an electric shower! The power generated by the cyclists will be stored in three pods, which will then power the shower.

Anyone who participates will be in with the chance to win lots of goodies, and the top peddlers will be rewarded with their own shower, powered of course by their fellow festival-goers!

Across the weekend, ESB will also be running 'Showeraoke' (yes you read that right!) to celebrate the art of singing in the shower. The best, most amusing and most enthusiastic performances will be uploaded onto the website www.esbpicnicpower.ie for a public vote, following the Electric Picnic.

Spot prizes will be awarded to the best 'Showeraoke' singers, including this summer’s must have festival accessory, the limited edition 'I Love Showeraoke' badges. A list of karaoke classic tunes are on the website now, so 'Showeraoke' wannabes can get practising.
