Delorentos to stay together

And now for some good news! Having announced their split in February, Delorentos now plan on staying together.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 22 Apr 2009

Writing on the band's MySpace blog, vocalist Rónan has revealed that they've had a chat and decided not be break up after all!

The lads had previously announced their split several months back, but were still planning a farewell tour and were determined to finish their second album.

Ró says a combination of stress, personal trauma, and taking what he had for granted led him to want out of the band, but since the group have been back in the studio he's remembered what he originally loved about the band:

"Had the band not felt compelled to record the songs we had been working on, I would not have had an opportunity to rethink my decision", he says. "It's a cliche, but I took those closest to me for granted. In studio I was reminded of the reasons I first got so excited about this group and it also afforded us the time to talk and see delorentos and ourselves from a different perspective."

The band play a series of gigs this month, starting off with a May 8 gig in Waterford and ending up in Whelan's on May 23.
