Charity fundraiser gig for Barretstown at Olympia

Tomorrow night's show will feature Gemma Hayes, Jape, Paddy Casey, Mundy, Duckworth Lewis Method, Lir, Villagers, Jerry Fish and more, all performing songs by their musical heroes.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 04 Mar 2010

Hot Press can exclusively reveal that Paddy Casey is expected to perform a Prince song, and Mundy will sing a song by The Doors.

The Barretstown charity hopes to raise much needed donations through the Irish community and music fans logging on to watch the live gig from both home and abroad. The live broadcast will available at www.muzu.tv/inspirationslive from 7.30pm on Friday March 5. While the broadcast will be free to view, viewers will be encouraged to click through and donate to Barretstown. The stream will also feature exclusive backstage interviews with the artists. Viewers will also be able to engage in live web chat during the show.

As organiser Gary Cohen told Hot Press, “This is a great chance for music fans everywhere to join the Irish audience at this amazing show and at the same time help a wonderful cause. All proceeds will go to Barretstown, the camp for children affected by cancer and other life threatening illnesses set up bythe late Hollywood actor Paul Newman.”
