Celebrate 50 years with The Chieftains!

Trad legends announce very special date at The Grand Canal Theatre

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 20 Jun 2011

Next year marks the incredible 50th anniversary of Irish traditional music pioneers The Chieftains. To celebrate this glorious landmark, the six-time Grammy Award-winning outfit will mark the occasion with an intimate performance at Dublin's Grand Canal Theatre on Tuesday May 29, 2012.

Over the course of their near-half century, The Chieftains have put Ireland on the map with their traditional stylings, while also making a name for themselves as a truly global phenomenon, performing at historical events and major happenings around the world. Most recently, Paddy Moloney's whistle and Matt Molloy's flute travelled to outer space in the company of a NASA astronaut, extending the band's impressive reach even further.

Tickets for this very special event are priced at €42

(including booking fee) and go on sale this Friday June 24 at 9am via Ticketmaster and all usual outlets.
