Cathy Davey confirms summer tour

Cathy Davey has confirmed a rigorous bout of summer touring, including dates in Dublin, Cork, Galway and at Electric Picnic.

Catch her at the Samhradh Festival, Dundalk (May 31); Olympia, Dublin (June 20); Junction Festival, Clonmel (July 9); Earagail Arts Festival, Letterkenny (10); Roisin Dubh, Galway (20); Cork X Southwest, Skibbereen Showgrounds (26); Spraoi, Waterford (August 1); Mitchelstown Music Festival (2); Arts Festival, Kilkenny (8); and Electric Picnic, Portlaoise (30).

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, the Murphy’s backed Cork X Southwest bash will feature the Main Stage, The Electronic Tent and the acoustic De Barra’s Sitting Room Sessions plus “delicious organic festival treats, cooked in the slow food ethic.”

Cathy Davey has surged back to the top of the Irish indie charts with The Nameless.

When Cathy Davey's acclaimed third album The Nameless shot to the number one spot in the Irish mainstream and indie charts last month, it marked not just a triumphant return for an artist who'd been dropped by EMI after her critically lauded and commercially successful Tales Of Silversleeve, but a new dawn for independent Irish acts in general. But behind the writing of that album was enough guilt and grief to start a new religion.
