Another week on top of Indie Chart for The Coronas

The foursome have held on to the No. 1 spot, while Chicane, The Black Crowes and Cathal Coughlan join the chart

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 13 Aug 2010

Dubliners The Coronas have once again held on to the top spot in the Irish Indie Chart with second album Tony Was An Ex-Con. Their debut Heroes or Ghosts drops one spot from No. 9 to No. 8.

Generally, there's been little change at the top end of the chart - Villagers' debut Becoming a Jackal is still at No. 2, while Cathy Davey's The Nameless is also a non-mover at No. 3.

Further down the chart though, there be movement! Former Microdisney and Fatima Mansions front man Cathal Coughlan's fifth solo album Rancho Tetrahedron has entered the chart at No. 12, while Georgia rockers The Black Crowe's latest offering Croweology is also a newcomer at No. 18. This double album (their ninth to date), celebrates the 20th anniversary of the band's 1990 debut Shake Your Moneymaker.

Electronic dance act Chicane (aka Nicholas Bracegirdle's) newest album Giants is also a new entry, it just about makes this week's chart, debuting at No. 19.
