Mark Linkous R.I.P.

The Sparklehorse man has been found dead in Tennessee.

Everyone at Hot Press is saddened by the news that 47-year-old Mark Linkous, a.k.a. Sparklehorse, has committed suicide in Knoxville, Tennessee on Saturday.

According to a family statement, Linkous was found dead in an alley outside a friend’s house after shooting himself with his own gun.

A fairly regular visitor to Ireland down through the years, he was a big champion of Gemma Hayes and struck up a friendship with the Ballyporeen singer.
