"They gave us something like $4,000 worth of drink!"

Our cover stars Two Door Cinema Club talk about turning 21 in STYLE, their mammoth debut Tourist History, and making small talk with Prince Charles

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 21 Oct 2010

Interviewed in the new issue of Hot Press, Northern Ireland's bright you things Two Door Cinema Club tell us about life on the road, the huge success of their much acclaimed debut Tourist History, and coming of age on the road!

The trio all turned 21 this year, but bassist Kevin Baird wins the prize for best party: "We hired a bar in Sydney and Mumford & Sons came down... they're massive in Australia, so once we told the bar they were coming, they said 'Okay, you can have loads of free drinks!"

But the Bangor and Donaghadee act have their eyes firmly on the prize, and since our interview, headed back to States, where they've sold out a five-week run, including a couple of 1,300 capacity shows in NY and LA.

Read the full interview with the boys in the new issue of Hot Press, out today.

The band also somehow found time to make a fly-on-the-wall documentary, directed and edited by Babysweet Sessions. It comes as part and parcel of the deluxe edition of Tourist History, out now. Click here to view!
