2001 was a vintage Super Furry year of multi-media mayhem, weekender tomfoolery, unforgettable live shows and their cracking fifth album Rings Around The World – an astonishing kaleidoscope of informed pop and a What's Going On? for a text messaging generation that ran rings around everything else. Now SFA usher in 2002 with a sparkling slice of sumptuous string-laden melancholia that chimes with all the chaos and carnage of early 21st century events. Inspired by a story about a farmer from outside Nagasaki who saw the bomb going off and thought it was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen, 'It's Not The End Of The World?' is sad but utterly uplifting and exceedingly romantic. Confirmation that the Welsh wizards are now easily amongst the very best we’ve got.
