Thirteen Irish singer-songwriters recorded in Loughrea, Co. Galway proves conclusively that there is plenty of talent out there just waiting to be discovered. The standard throughout is impressive with Ultan Conlon’s ‘Clear’, Bernard McMahon’s ‘Borrowed Time’, Andy Burke’s ‘Powder Fields’ and Sabrina Dinan’s ‘Another Drink, Another Smoke’ the pick of the crop.

Fabrice Lig’s effort is passable neo-Detroit, the pleasing, phased percussion not combining well with an odd shredded FX patch and hyperactive low-end. Regis and Female’s electro-tech effort ‘C Chaos’ is much better: reminiscent of ‘Polynomial C’, the Aphex-style melodies are the perfect foil to the razor-sharp, multi-layered beats and throbbing kick.
