Support Confirmed for Gorillaz Dublin Show

Group secures all-star line-up.

De La Soul and Bobby Womack have confirmed they are set to join Gorillaz onstage for their upcoming tour of Ireland and the UK.

Also confirmed to appear at the November dates are Hypnotic Brass, Kano, Bashy, Little Dragon, Roses Gabor, Bootie Brown, Shaun Ryder and Mark E Smith.

Performed by Damon Albarn, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and the Gorillaz band, the live show will feature songs from all three albums - Gorillaz, Demon Days and Plastic Beach - and will include full production, with video animation, artwork and film as designed by Jamie Hewlett.

Tickets are still available for their 11 November show in Dublin's O2 from www.ticketmaster.ie and usual outlets nationwide.

Gorillaz are, in many ways, the pub conversation that went too far. On the back of a beer-mat, it’s certainly a perky conceit: a comic-strip band whose songs muddle genres with cartoonish chutzpah. In execution however, Damon Albarn’s pet endeavour has too often tended towards debilitating smugness.
