Timber Timbre

Canadian songsmith ‘does’ a Bon Iver

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 06 Sep 2010

Boasting weird, bluesy waltzes and skeletal, introspective love songs a plenty, Timber Timbre’s (AKA Canadian singer/songwriter Taylor Kirk) third, self-titled album is a pleasing mash-up of Bon Iver, Seasick Steve and Jeff Buckley. Already a cult hero in his homeland, his latest record has the potential to make him a very big act indeed. Whether it’s the sparse ‘Demon Host’ or the catchy as hell voodoo lament ‘Until The Night Is Over,’ Mr Kirk’s Dr John-esque croon is utterly mesmerizing. Big things are surely coming his way.
