Saviours Of Space win National Student Music Awards!

Waterford band Saviours Of Space were last night deemed the winners of the Bank Of Ireland National Student Music Awards.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 27 Apr 2007

The five piece emerged victorious from the annual competition, an accolade previously given to Delorentos and Lotus Lullaby (now The Gift).

The nine judges - including Hot Press's walking, talking opinion that is Stuart Clark - decided their fate while The Blizzards entertained the sold-out crowd at The Village, Dublin.

"I was hugely impressed with the standard," notes Mr. Clark, "all the bands had worked hard for the competition and it showed in their performances, but the Saviours Of Space just pipped them to the post."

They battled it out against Monitor, Vamos, The Arrangements, The Kinetiks and Albyno Rhino to win the straight-from-musical-heaven prize of a Hot Press interview, a cash prize from IMRO, extensive recording time at Religion Music Studios, CD duplication with Easy Duplication; rehearsal time and a day with a solicitor.

Congrats to all the bands involved and the team who worked tirelessly to make the competition happen!
