Lesbian Satanic Druglords. 'Nuff said.

Indie electronic darling Grimes teams up with a host of artists to produce L$D

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 14 Jun 2012

L$D are the brain child of Grimes, Kreayshawn, Blood Diamonds, and Tragik.

Produced by the Vancouver imp, L$D has been earmarked for success.

With a meteoric hit-in-progess, Lesbian Satanic Druglords (L$D) may yet announce touring details. Producer and vocalist Grimes, former ballerina and darling of the indie electro scene, comes to unsuspecting Irish shores at the end of the summer.

Taking on Stradbally this September after supporting Skrillex on his world-wide tour, Grimes is no stranger to raised eyebrows. Earlier this year she released a line of rings shaped like vulvae. Yes, vulvae. Ardent fans live in hope of a well-stocked merchandise stand.

Her sound is one that eludes definition, but picture if you can what would happen if the elvish characters of Lord of the Rings put on a rave. Better still, listen to it below.

L$D are musical protozoa as yet, but a serious evolution is expected to take place. Fan-bases are springing up like shanty towns all over the web, and it is now only a matter of time. After the release of just one single, L$D are capturing attention. The anoraks won't be able to keep it to themselves, soon it will be blaring from the tinny phones of teenagers on the top floor of Dublin buses.

Definitely one to keep an eye on.
