Belfast Music week announces programme
It takes place next month...
The Hot Press Newsdesk, 17 Oct 2012
The third annual Belfast Music Week will kick of November 4. The week will be packed full of live music in fantastically rich venues like Ulster Hall, the Lyric Theatre and the MAC. The music will range from hip hop to trad to chamber music.
Be sure to catch the premiere of Two Door Cinema Club’s documentary. What We See, will show at 7pm on November 5 at Queen’s Film Theatre. Tickets cost just £3.
For some free fun, check out the Limelight on November 8, where 12 cutting-edge bands will play live. There will also be lunchtime gigs at HMV Records in Donegall Arcade on the 5, 6, and 7. Black Box Café will have lunchtime playbacks of classic Northern Ireland albums on the same days.
Lord Mayor of Belfast Alderman Gavin Robinson commented: “Hosting last year’s MTV EMAs gave Belfast and its people a sense of belief that we can be a credible musical city, and to see our homegrown talent take their rightful place on a world stage is something we can all be proud of. Belfast Music Week is a celebration of our music, our artists, our industry, our venues and our unique musical community.”
